Components:

  • 8 ounces of large Italian sausage
  • One sixteen-ounce box of tiny sweet peppers in various colors
  • Two tsp olive oil, separated
  • One container (8 ounces) of softened cream cheese
  • ½ cup of cheddar cheese, shredded
  • Two tablespoons of blue cheese crumbles (Optional)
  • One tablespoon of fresh chives chopped finely
  • one minced garlic clove
  • ¼ teaspoon of black pepper, ground
  • Two teaspoons of bread crumbs (panko)

Guidelines

A big nonstick skillet should be heated over medium-high heat. Sausage should be cooked and stirred for 5 to 7 minutes in a heated skillet, or until browned and crumbly. Remove and dispose of the grease; reserve.

Set an air fryer to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius).

Cut a lengthwise slit from stem to tip in one side of each sweet pepper. Put the peppers in the air fryer basket after brushing them with one tablespoon of olive oil.

Simmer for three minutes in the prepared air fryer. Cook for a further three minutes or so, shaking the basket, or until the peppers begin to color and soften. Once the peppers are cool, please remove them and leave the air fryer running.

In a medium-sized bowl, thoroughly combine the sausage, cream cheese, Cheddar cheese, blue cheese, chives, garlic, and black pepper while the peppers cool. Take the last tablespoon of olive oil; the bread crumbs should be combined in a different bowl.

Fill each pepper with the cheese mixture, then top with bread crumbs. Working in batches if needed, place the filled peppers in the air fryer basket and cook for 4 to 5 minutes, or until the filling is cooked through and the bread crumbs are toasted. Serve warm after a small cooling period.
