Today I pulled up to M’Dears Bakery & Bistro in Los Angeles — a soul food staple that’s been getting serious hype — and decided to try their chicken sausage breakfast tacos. I wasn’t expecting much… but these tacos woke my taste buds up like an alarm clock with bass.
These tacos come on a warm corn tortilla, filled with chicken sausage, soft scrambled eggs, melted cheese, crispy tater tots tucked inside the taco (genius move), and finished with their signature WACA sauce — a bold, tangy, slightly spicy house sauce that pulls everything together.
What Makes These Tacos Hit?
- Corn tortilla — soft but holds its shape, slightly toasted
- Chicken sausage — seasoned just right, not too salty
- Egg + cheese combo — classic breakfast foundation, no shortcuts
- Tater tots inside the taco — crisp and fluffy, game changer
- WACA sauce — smoky, tangy, spicy… you instantly want more
It’s the kind of breakfast you keep thinking about after you’re done — heavy enough to feel satisfied, but not greasy or sloppy.
Would I Order Again?
Absolutely. Especially for people who love Southern comfort flavor with a West Coast twist — this is one of those underrated LA breakfast gems you only hear about from locals.

Final Thoughts
If you’re in LA and want something soulful, handcrafted, and way better than a basic drive-thru breakfast, M’Dears breakfast tacos deserve a spot on your foodie hit list. I’ll be back — next time for the chicken & waffles.
